Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
Muzikid Academy ("Muzikid", "we", "us") provides in-home piano lessons for children in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. You can contact us at [email protected] or on WhatsApp at +255 657 994 800.

2. Information we collect
We collect information that parents and guardians give us directly:
- Parent or guardian name, phone number and WhatsApp number, and email address if provided.
- Home address or neighbourhood, so we can arrange in-home lessons
Child's name, age, musical background and learning progress
- Messages you send us on WhatsApp, by phone, or through our enquiry and registration forms
- Lesson attendance, session notes, and payment records
- Photos and videos of lessons, only where you have given consent
- We do not knowingly collect information directly from children. Information about children comes from their parents or guardians.

3. How we use your information
- To respond to enquiries and arrange assessments and lessons
- To schedule and deliver lessons, and to share progress updates with parents.
- To send reminders, invoices and payment confirmations.
- To improve our programme and to measure the effectiveness of our advertising
- To send messages about lessons and enrolment, including automated replies to common questions

4. WhatsApp and automated messages
We communicate with families through WhatsApp Business. Messages you send us may be received and stored by our systems, and some replies may be sent automatically. A member of our team can take over any conversation at any time. You can ask us to stop messaging you at any time by replying "STOP" or contacting us.

5. Services we use
We use trusted tools to run Muzikid, including WhatsApp Business (Meta), Airtable (records management), Make (automation), Tally (forms) and Meta advertising tools. These providers process information on our behalf. To measure advertising, we may share limited information with Meta, such as a scrambled (hashed) version of your phone number, so that Meta can match enquiries to our ads. We do not sell your personal information.

6. Sharing
We share information only with the providers above, with the teachers assigned to your child (limited to what they need to deliver lessons), where the law requires it, or with your consent.

7. Photos and videos
We take and use photos or videos of children only according to the consent preference you give at enrolment. You can change or withdraw that preference at any time.

8. How long we keep information
We keep information while your child is enrolled and for a reasonable period afterwards for record-keeping, such as accounting needs. After that we delete or anonymise it.

9. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including password-protected accounts and restricted access. No system is completely secure, but we work to limit who can see your information.

10. Your rights
You may ask us to tell you what information we hold about you or your child, correct it, or delete it, and you may withdraw your consent to our use of it. Please contact us using the details above. We follow the requirements of Tanzania's Personal Data Protection Act, 2022, where they apply to us.
11. Data deletion requests
To have your information deleted, email [email protected] or message us on WhatsApp with the request. We will confirm once your information has been deleted, except for records we are legally required to keep.

12. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available at privacy.muzikid.co.tz, with the effective date at the top.
